Education

Paul Klemperer teaches a 5-session jazz history class through the University of Texas Informal Classes. The class is offered several times a year. The website for this class can be found at: https://informalclasses.org.

Paul Klemperer gives private instruction for saxophone, clarinet, flute, and music theory. His background includes classical, jazz, and world musics. He is also available for workshops on music technique, theory, and issues in popular music.

Lessons

Paul Klemperer has been teaching private and group music classes for over 30 years.  He has a background in classical clarinet, dixieland clarinet, swing-to-contemporary jazz saxophone, as well as various styles of world music.  He also teaches beginning flute, keyboard, and music theory.

Paul teaches private lessons at his home studio, and is also available for group lessons.

Jazz History Class

Paul Klemperer teaches a 5-session jazz history class several times a year. The next class is scheduled for October 8 through Novembr 5. To sign up, contact UT Informal Classes. The website is: https://informalclasses.org.

The class covers jazz history from West African origins to contemporary styles, with emphasis on representative artists, stylistic elements, and social issues that shaped the music.
